Friday November 21st, the Woodland gym was packed from wall to wall with the students of Woodland Regional High school. All were dressed for the occasion. Women wore dresses, and the men arrived in clean cut apparel-shirts and ties worn by most. The WRHS Homecoming of 2008 was a smash hit for the students of Woodland as well as its staff members.
Woodland Regional Student Council presented the 2008 Homecoming dance as a night to remember. To match this year’s theme, “A Tour of Europe”, WRSC transformed the entire gym to make the experience seem as if the students were in European cities. The walls and bleachers were decorated from top to bottom with replicas of European attractions such as the Eiffel Tower and L’ Arc De Triomphe. They even put up a city skyline to make that city-like effect seem more realistic.
Doors opened at 7:00 pm. As the ceiling lights dimmed and the club lights shined bright, the dance floor was filled as the music pumped. The European bash lasted all through the evening until 10:30 pm. Homecoming 2008 was a runaway success and hopes are high for next year's event.
If anyone has any Homecoming pictures they would like to put in the newspaper or the online paper please email Rachael Conti at Rachaelconti@sbcglobal.net. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
