Poll: Holidays
Everything seems to be working fine; leave it as is.
No favorites--take out any holidays that have to do with religious beliefs.
Depending on school population, certain holidays should be added to the calendar.
Be fair--add all major religious holidays to the calendar.
Who cares--More holidays would be great!

A 10 day summit to be held in Washington DC during the summer

The National Leadership Summit is an exciting, academic-based program where students will get an up-close, firsthand look at leaders in action.  Students visit Capitol Hill and other Washington landmarks and attend briefings by prominent leaders.  Students will learn the values and attitudes of successful leaders, watch how issues are debated and see world events unfold in our nation’s capital.

Throughout the NLS, students will participate in an Executive & Legislative Simulation in which they’ll be faced with complex issues and conflicting points of view.  They engage in discussions and debates on issues facing our nation and our world while practicing negotiation and effective communications.

Last summer, students met presidential nominees, former President Bill Clinton and many others

The summit is accredited for 2 college credits.

The National Leadership Summit is for students currently in grades – 9th, 10th, 11th, & 12th.

Any student who is interested in being nominated for this great opportunity should see their counselor right away – Deadline for nominations is November 14th.
