NCAA men’s basketball three point line is being moved back a whole foot.
The men’s basketball rules committee voted on May 3rd to move the three point line back . “If approved by the playing rules oversight committee on May 25, it would mark the first major alteration to the 3-point shot since its inception in 1986-87.” according to ABC news.
The new rule change will come into effect for the 2008-2009 season. Most courts where men’s and women’s teams play will have two three point lines, one at 19 feet 9 inches for women and one at 20 feet 9 inches for the men.
There is no word yet on whether or not the change will affect high school basketball.
