Poll: Holidays
Everything seems to be working fine; leave it as is.
No favorites--take out any holidays that have to do with religious beliefs.
Depending on school population, certain holidays should be added to the calendar.
Be fair--add all major religious holidays to the calendar.
Who cares--More holidays would be great!

The National league Championship Series (NLCS) was a very exciting game. The Dodgers and Phillies clashed again in a tough fought battle. The Phillies won 8-5 due to the second and the third inning where in both those innings they batted around the order and scored four runs.

The scoring in this game was again another Dodger lead early that the pitching staff could not overcome. The Dodgers scored one run in the second inning from a run batted in (RBI) ground out from Blake DeWitt the Dodgers second baseman. In the bottom half of the second inning there was a double from Ruiz, the Phillies catcher, to score in third baseman Greg Dobbs. With Ruiz on second the Pitcher Brett Meyers got a little action with a single to score in Ruiz from second. After the run scored there was an error on Matt Kemp, the Dodgers centerfielder, who allowed jimmy Rollins, shortstop for the Phillies gets to second base. After this error centerfielder Shane Victorino hit a two-run RBI single to pull a 4-1 le ad.

In the top of the third inning James Loney, the Dodgers first baseman hit a single to score in catcher Russell Martin to cut the lead in half. The bottom half of the third inning the Phillies broke out again with another four run inning. Again, Phillies pitcher Brett Meyers gets an RBI with a two-run single. Not to mention that Brett Meyer had four hits all season and he has three hits during this game. After Meyers singles to score in two runs Shane Victorino again hits a triple and scores in two runs and blows open the game for the Phillies with an 8-2 lead. But the Dodgers try to get something to spark but it doesn’t light on fire. In the top of the fourth inning Manny Ramirez hits a 3 run homerun to help the Dodgers believe that doesn’t help as the Phillies bullpen again proves that they are an elite group as they shut  Dodgers for four more innings and the win with Brad Lidge closing the game the Phillies knew they were going to win. T he Phillies win a hard fought game and now have the advantage going onto game 3 with a 2-0 lead.

As the Phillies win game two, is there chance for a Dodgers comeback? Lets see at 8:00 p.m. when they play game three at the Dodgers home park. The starting pitchers are Hiroki Kuroda for the Dodgers goes against Jamie Moyer. Can the Phillies win and be one more game close to what they’ve been working for all year the World Series or can the Dodgers get things together and come back to make this a series for the ages?
