Game three of the World Series was a great game as it came down to the last inning.
First to score were the Phillies when second basemen Chase Utley grounded out to first and teammate Jimmy Rollins scored. Then the Rays started to get some action as well when Ray’s right fielder Gabe Gross hit a sacrifice fly out to center and the speedy Carl Crawford scored. Then Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz hit a solo homerun to take the lead, Phillies lead 3-2. Then there were two back-to-back homeruns in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Phillies by second basemen Chase Utley and first basemen Ryan Howard, the Phillies lead 4-1.
The Rays start to make this a ball game when Gabe Gross grounded out to the first basemen to cut the game in half, Phillies lead 4-2. Then the Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett hit a groundout to oppos ing shortstop Jimmy Rollins, Rays catcher Dioner Navarro scores and the Rays are now down by just one, but that will change.
In the top of the ninth Rays centerfielder stole second to advance to third, but Carlos Ruiz threw the ball bad as it passed by third basemen Pedro Feliz and Upton scores to tie the game at four a piece.
In the bottom of the ninth inning bases loaded Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz hits a grounder to the third basemen Evan Longoria but Evan throws the ball over the catchers head on the force out at home.
The Phillies won on an infield single by Ruiz. The series continues in Philadelphia, with the Phillies leading the series 2-1.
