Everything seems to be working fine; leave it as is.
No favorites--take out any holidays that have to do with religious beliefs.
Depending on school population, certain holidays should be added to the calendar.
Be fair--add all major religious holidays to the calendar.
Who cares--More holidays would be great!



State Tournament Brackets Released

The brackets for the spring state tournaments have been released and feature several Woodland squads. Below are the first-round pairings for the baseball, softball, and girls' tennis teams.

Baseball (#16 seed in Class M)

First Round: Monday, June 1 vs. #17 St. Joseph, 3:30 PM at Woodland
Winner faces #1 Seymour/#32 Joel Barlow on Tuesday, June 2
Update: Hawks lost, 13-3, in first round to St. Joseph

Softball (#6 seed in Class M)

First Round: Monday, June 1 vs. #27 Granby Memorial, 4:00 PM at Woodland
Winner faces #11 East Catholic/#22 New Fairfield on Tuesday, June 2
Update: Hawks advanced to quarterfinals with 6-1 win over Granby and 4-1 win over East Catholic.

Girls' Tennis (Class S)

Play-in Match: Monday, June 1 vs. Holy Cross, 12:00 PM at North Branford
Winner faces #2 Shepaug Valley on Tuesday, June 2
Update: Hawks lost, 4-3, to Holy Cross in opening round
